Each puppy will be a unique combination of these two breeds!

Maltese Characteristics

*The Maltese may look like a rather fragile little glamour dog, but under that stunning white coat is a lively little canine that is full of character and ready for anything!  Adult Maltese range from roughly 3 to 10 lbs., though breed standards, as a whole, call for weights between 5-8 lbs. The body is compact with the length equaling the height. They have slightly rounded skulls, with a finger-wide dome between black rimmed, brown eyes.  The slender muzzle is tipped with an adorable black button nose.  The top row of teeth connect smoothly over the lower row.  The coat is long and silky without an undercoat. The color of the coat is pure white but shades of ivory are also acceptable. This breed is recognized for all the benifits of having a non-shedding coat.

*The fine features of this breed come with lots of very happy energy.  The Maltese is a sweet-natured dog, alert and lively with a high level of intelligence, thus very teachable.  Although a small breed, categorized in the Toy Group, this is a soundly built little dog, capable of enjoying plenty of exercise and fun. While  very entertaining, it will be their love for you that melts your heart.

Shih Tzu Characteristics

*The Shih Tzu is a small, sturdy dog, weighing between 9 to 16 lbs.  Its body is slightly longer than it is tall. The head is round and broad, with some space between the usually black rimmed eyes, depending on the color of their coat. The square muzzle is short, with an inch or less from the tip of the nose to the defined stop. The teeth meet in a level or under bite. Shih Tzus are among the few breeds whose multi colored, double coat is made up of hair (like people) instead of fur and are regarded as non-shedding dogs. With the varity of color offered with this breed, each dog's coat has its own unique, beautiful blends and attractive markings. Often giving these dogs what is called a "puppy cut" makes managing these beautiful coats easier.

*You can expect an alert, lively, little dog. It is happy and hardy, and packed with character. The gentle, loyal Shih Tzu makes friends easily and responds well to consistent, patient training. It makes a very alert watchdog, yet very mild mannered.  It is courageous and clever. This affectionate little dog loves to be with people whether time to play or curl up in your lap for a nap and is generally a great conpanion with children and additional pets.
